I do hope to instill this child with a love of cooking. However, I really don't think this is really the best start to it.

Insert generic update message here
This child is changing faster than I can keep up, I swear. She's got a cold right now too, so we have a sad, grumpy baby.
Got a bunch of pics and stuff to share.

Music to my ears
Gwen does seem to show an unnatural love of the piano. I always hated the thing growing up, personally. This video is horrible quality, it's from my phone.
We have achieved mobility
This last week Gwen's finally figured out a method to get where she wants to. This has really shown me how much my life will be changing (again) through this whole "I have a little person around now" process. I've sat her down several times and been very surprised to turn around and find that she's getting in trouble quite far from where I left her.
It's not really crawling, and certainly not walking. I've been calling it the Quasimodo since she looks like a club-footed hunchback lurching forward. The videos below show her being much more coordinated than a few days ago so the description isn't as valid anymore.
And now some vids!

Food update
Not much to report, but here you go anyway. Went to the doctor today for a well baby visit. All looks good, no signs of ear infection or anything. She's up to 14 pounds 3 ounces or so, but the doctor's not worried about her yet.
We're still struggling with getting this child to eat anything resembling solid food. She's sortof gotten the cheerio thing down - about half of each one eventually makes its way down her throat and the other half ends up smeared on anything nearby.
Ice cream was a limited success. Yes, we started with gravy and then moved on to dessert. I just have to point out that I was not consuming any ice cream...
She is getting better at feeding herself. I need to get the bottle into her hands, but once it's there she's able to hold on to it most of the time.

Progress, of a sort
We've been having an impossible time getting this child to eat anything besides a bottle. For months, we've tried sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce, rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, cinnamon apples, teething crackers, and baby puffs (made with real babies!). It's quite frustrating, really.
However, Davina actually had some progress having Gwen eat solid food for the first time today. And the winner is...
Gravy.
From a chicken pot pie.
Yes, my child, daughter of two parents who love to eat horridly unhealthy things, loves gravy. This shouldn't be all that surprising, but still...
And to finish off, have some more pics of a sleepy baby:
