Huzzah!

Going on a walk with Grammers

I will continue to try to get this kid to say huzzah! on command.  It's a life goal of mine.

I walked in to pick up Gwen, and Seraphim had just spilled a box of spaghetti. Hilarity ensued.

Chatty on the stairs

The child isn't quite ready for stairs all on her own, but she does make attempts.  These extremely low-quality vids show her thinking about going up our stairs, and telling me all about it at the meantime.

Really, I was waiting for her to repeat what she'd just said before I pulled out the camera: F****, f****, f****, f****.  I don't know if she gets it from "duck" or it's just a random sound, but it occasionally comes out.  We try not to laugh, but it's hard sometimes.

More vids

Just a few clips to placate the masses.

Gwen, after eating 3 servings of pasta at Davina's

We found Gwen a tent for $8.  We even bought a spare at that price in case this one breaks or we need a quick gift.

There were supposed to be more, but Blogger isn't letting me upload them for some reason.  I'll get them up later.  Maybe in another month or two at this rate...

Gotta be a first time for everything

And today, it's an ear infection.  This is a very sad baby.

Family pics

First thing, Gwen had another milestone at Grammer's yesterday.  She can count to three with a little prompting.  When she feels like it.

We had a professional photoshoot in December and I snagged some of the images from the company's order page.  Very low quality and they have a giant "Proof" across them, but here they are anyway.

January pics

We've become so horrible at updating this blog.  Just too much going on in our lives I suppose.

Gwen just keeps changing all the time.  She's able to walk around holding onto furniture or pushing a little car, and we've seen her stand unaided for a few seconds at a time.  She's very chatty, and words are arriving with some frequency; we've had "up", "bye bye", "no", and "milk" for awhile now, but newer additions are "gaga" (cracker), "up ez" (up please), "coo" (thank you, we think), "night night", "house" (referring to her toy door in the pics below), and just today we got "pizza".  I was carrying her from the car after picking her up from daycare and she just spat out "pizzapizzapizza".  I just had to stop in my tracks, the cuteness was overwhelming.

Gwen had a surgery on her eye a few weeks ago.  She was born with a blocked tear duct and it just didn't go away.  Everything went fine, and we no longer have to hold a wet washcloth to her eye every morning to loosen up the gunk.  A win-win for all of us, really.

This child is still not gaining weight.  She's gotten a bit taller, but she's noticeably skinnier.  The chart, it is looking worse.  Up until recently, she's been at a very healthy height/weight ratio, right in the middle of the range.  Now she's right on the edge between OK and too skinny for her height.  A dietician came to look at her and has told us to put olive oil in her spaghetti sauce and heavy whipping cream in her milk.  Wish I could eat that way...
