No new details!

Well, we were supposed to go to the pediatrician on Thursday, but due to some snags with insurance and such, Gwen and I got all the way to the office and did not get to see Dr. J. Or rather, we didn't want to spend the $100 it would be to see Dr. J because he wasn't listed as Gwen's primary care physician anymore.

So we tried to make an appt soon with the doctor who will be her primary care, but their system was down so they couldn't take appointments.

I hope we're not throwing off her immunization schedule. :\ I will try to get an appt with the doctor on Monday, but who knows when it will be. If worst comes to worst, I have rescheduled with Dr. J for next week, but we'll need to change Gwen's PCP temporarily to Dr. J. Which Luke has to do at work, in human resources for some reason.

  1. Meh, don't worry too much about the immunization schedule, you can monkey with it a bit. I decided that although we wanted all the immunizations, I didn't want Scooty to get them all on the same day. So we came every 2-4 weeks and spread them around some. It worked out very nicely, he is totally up to date, and we didn't have to do four immunizations all in one day. It's not set in stone so I wouldn't stress too much. ;)

  2. Vanessa is right, not set in stone. You win some you lose some. But next time, call your mom and tell her whats going on.... she was in a panic you hadn't said anything either way.... you know how she can be.

  3. Yeah, what they said. Don't sweat the schedule. Our family rule is no more than 2 pokes per visit, so Vivian was perpetually "behind" in her shots until she was 2 or 3 and finally had enough visits to catch up on those times when the schedule said she needed like 5 vaccines at once.

If you have time, I highly recommend "The Vaccine Book" by Sears. It's really informative (not alarmist) about vaccine schedules, vaccine contents (like aluminum), and so on.

Our ped is ok with it, though last time we were there we saw someone else and his nurse was snotty and gave me the evil eye. But whatEVAH, nurse lady.
